Searches in FUNDimensions are performed by selecting the appropriate item from the Find menu. They can be performed from within a list view or input window. Some searches are available only in specific modules: for example, the search to locate overdue pledges is enabled in the menu only for the Pledge module.
When you perform a search, the results appear in the list view of the module. A count of the found records appears at the top of the list view, and other statistics are available from the List Statistics command in the reports menu. These include such items as total amount of gifts and membership renewal rate of the found records.
This tour presents only a sampling of the queries in FUNDimensions. The Find menu lists the queries available:
In addition to the searches in this menu, FUNDimensions performs a background search during entry of new donors, to detect if the new record may be a duplicate of an existing donor record. If a match is found on the basis of first initial/last name, address/zipcode, or company name, you are alerted and given the opportunity to view the existing record before completing the new one. You can also choose to ignore the warning and proceed with entry of the new record. This helps to avoid the wasted effort of entering duplicate records, as well as reducing the need to de-dupe the database later.
