Changes to 7.6.4, 29 June 10

This is a free update if you are licensed for version 7.0 or higher.

bug fixes

• Fix incorrect pledge balance showing for written-off pledges when printing the pledge input window.
• Fix bug that resulted in a array range check runtime error if the event manager was closed on an event that had a type of "Call" or "To-Do."
• Fix bug that changes to the group type do not get saved in a new event. but do appear in the next new event created.
• Fix several bugs in handling duplicates: fix error when designating records as not duplicates ("donor record # is out of range").
• Fix that the Duplicates search could find records that had been marked as not duplicates.
• Fix that the Mark as Not Duplicates could fail to do that.
• Updated HASP drivers for both platforms to "Sentinel" installers for compatibility with new operating systems.
• HASP driver installer is now included in single user install on Windows, instead of requiring a separate download.

new features

• Add confirmation message and dialog confirmation before marking records as "not duplicates" in the Assign Other dialog.
• Allow marking more than 2 records at a time as "not duplicates" in the Assign Other dialog.
• Add help text to Assign Other dialog to guide users in using the "not duplicates" function.
• Make explicit in the popup menu for the Total Gifts column in the Registrants listbox of the event manager that the total gift amount does not include memberships.

new features

New "Copy Statistics To Clipboard" command to Dashboard pulldown menu that compiles 10 statistics available through the menu and puts them on the clipboard for easy use in reports, emails, and so forth. Statistics include fundraising results for year over year, month over month, fiscal years and other time periods.

This is a free update if you are licensed for version 7.0 or higher.

new features

• Add “Anywhere“ option to Basic Search; in the Donor Module. This permits users to locate records without having to first know which field the text or number they are searching for, is in. For future development, this opens up the following possibilities:
  • Search scope does not currently include related records, e.g gift and note records, but this may change.
  • A custom browser for these search results may be developed which will direct users to the locations (fields) within records where the search located a match.
  • The fuzzy and phonetic matching available in other searches could be extended to the Anywhere search.
  • Additional fields could be indexed for fuzzy and phonetic matches to extend the usefullness of the Anywhere search, and possibily other searches as well.
• Add “Ends with” option to Basic Search.

improved features

• When printing a note from the Note Input Window, include saved picture and improve speed of printing.
• Fix bad cosmetic result when printing multi-page notes.
• Add message in Assign Other dialog when Designate as Not Duplicates cannot be used because there are more than two records in selection, and disable the radio button. This is a more efficient interface for users than catching this error after OK is clicked.
• Cosmetic improvements to Assign Other and Calendar search dialogs.
• Build with new version of 4D engine (2004.8).
• Changes to make ready for move to 4D v11 (ObjectTools plug-in eliminated).
• Delete contents of calendar clipboard when the calendar window is closed (save memory).

bug fixes

• Fix bug error that would cause certain "Does Not Contain" searches in the Basic search to return wrong results.
• Fix bug that would cause edits to a note record to be lost if it was printed before saving.
• Fix bug that could result in a previously-loaded pledge payment record appearing in the list of payments in the new pledge if the new pledge was created by contextual menu in pledge list.
• Fix bug that has items deleted from choice lists (i.e. items in records but not in choice list) show up in Assign Other dialog.
• Fix bug that would cause error message if user re-selected a menu item from the Dashboard statistics.
• Fix bug that would cause the balance to change in a listed pledge record, if the record was cloned using the contextual menu, then the cloned record was canceled.

• Easier setup for creating fundraising events
  • new filtering option in the donor picker lets you see only the donors who have not already been seated at the event, for adding them to a table, row, room or team
  • new status bar in the donor picker lets you see the number of donors selected for seating, without needing to seat them first
• Streamlined user interface in the Event Manager
  • added display of selected group name to title of registrations listbox e.g. instead of just displaying “Registrations” it now displays “Registrations for Table 3”
  • event manager returns to event or management tab, whichever was selected when the window was closed for each event
  • event manager window title bar to display the event date, since that is otherwise only visible by clicking the Event tab
  • sort in the event manager are preserved when changing selections and closing/reopening windows

• fix wrong selection of registrants when sorting groups
• fix wrong selection of registrants that could appear after editing Max Seats or Group Name cells
• fix that some statistics displayed did not update properly (to zero) when all groups were deleted from an event
• fix that the wrong group or donor would be deleted when using the Delete group or Remove Donor buttons, if the list had been sorted and no change had been made to the selection with mouse clicks or keyboard
• fix that the event input window would not display the event title in the window title bar the first time it was opened if the event was not a new one
• fix poor cosmetic window behavior when quitting application
• fix that the OK button in the Donor Picker dialog could become disabled by mistake

Changes to 7.2.2, 21 April 08

This is a free update if you are licensed for version 7.0 or higher.

• Add button for use by Administrator to delete all user preferences and reset them to default values (File menu > Administration > Usage tab > Reset All Preferences button)

• Extensive revisions and updates to all documentation (about 500 pages in total): User Manual, Client-Server Administration Guide, Mac Single-User Installation Guide and Windows Single-User Installation Guide.

This is a free update if you are licensed for version 7.0 or higher.

new features

• New options to show current and period-comparison statistics in the FUNDimensions dashboard (shown below, left). These update automatically as gifts are added, edited or deleted, to help you stay informed about your fundraising progress. Choices are This Week, This Month, This Month Over Same Period Prior Month, This Month Over Same Days and Month Last Year, This Year, This Year Over Last Year, This Fiscal Year, This Fiscal Year Over Same Period of Last Fiscal Year, and All Time.You can also invoke a command to display the Dashboard Preferences from the same menu, indicated with the arrow below:

• Add option to color FUNDimensions dashboard entries in red and display them with a mark when a user-determined threshold in unacknowledged (Thank You Note not sent) days is met. This assists the fundraiser in sending thank you notes in a timely fashion, without the need to constantly check the dashboard. (Shown at left in screenshot above.) The threshold is set in Dashboard Preferences.
• Larger font size and slightly more white space make the dashboard easier to read, while still keeping the display compact.

bug fixes

• Fix that sheet dialog windows do not respond to mouse clicks under Mac OS X 10.5.2
• Fix two runtime errors that might occur when opening the Backup Configuration window
• Prevent array range check error when closing an event (line 32, PM EventManager_SaveSeatingGroups)
• Fix deleting user corrupts password system.
• Fix problem with vertical text within chart areas.
• Fix that in fields displaying right-aligned numbers, the content is one pixel to far right.

• Fix that the Donor Since column label in the Event Manager did not update when the contextual menu was used to change the display to Member Since or Donor ID
• Fix certain problems in the custom export (an unsupported/undocumented feature of the software)
• Fix broken Constituent Type list in Donor Input Window
• Fix that changes to Constituent Type list would not update in picker until software was relaunched

• add report for attended/not attended
• enable access to Report Editor in Event Manager, to allow custom reports by users
• implement automatic naming of new groups in the event manager for faster data entry
• searches in the donor record picker (notes and event manager modules) now include user-defined and choice list fields in the donor record, and keywords
• add display of count of records displayed in donor record picker
• add Select All button to Donor record Picker when used from Event Manager
• index additional donor table fields: middle name and label salutation 1 and 2, to support fast searches on donor picker searches (see above)
• remove Cancel and Save buttons from Event Input Window and replace with a Close button
• revise function of the Output Menu > Dashboard menu item to toggle display of the dashboard window, and display Hide/Show dashboard as appropriate

bug fixes

• fix that sometimes saving a new event from the event manager says a title is required event though one was already entered
• fix many “attempt to save non-unique data” errors when canceling a new event record, and sometimes when saving a new event record too
• fix enabled Open In Second Window item in Calendar only when an event is selected and the first instance of the Event Input Window is open
• fix window flashing when closing a window in the Event Manager, then opening an event without event manager data
• fix Event Manager report dialog to display correct group type in popup menu
• fix that headers don’t print every page for Seating List report
• fix error message when attempting to print labels for an event with no registrants
• fix disabling/enabling of the Records Menu > Open In Second Window menu item in Calendar window
• fix Remove Donor button disabling when it shouldn't (during multiple deletes) in the Event Manager
